Yeaaaaaaa!
So yesterday I was tellin yall about the Sloppy Traverse, the v6 that I was getttin really close to finishing. Well I got it done and im stoked. I think its the hardest boulder problem iv done on this trip so far. Not that hard... haha but Im feelin stronger and I think climbing on real rock is making me use some technique and my feets. Anyways Im going to climb today, till about noon, then head back to bishop!! Im ready to get some stuff done there. Though Red Rocks is amazing! Maybe ill come back in January or Febuary when its a little cooler. But here are pics of the Bubble Butt a v7 I need to link, and the Sloppy Traverse.
| This is Bubble Butt, isnt it a pretty boulder? It has sloppy pinches and sharp ass in-cut crimps, I like it. |
| Heres me gettin off the Sloppy Traverse boulder after I finally finished it. Took like 3 days to figure out all the moves, talk about slow at figuring out beta hahaha. |
| This is the last few moves. |
Here is the start sorta, as you can see its like most Sloppy Traverses, heal hooks and full palm sloping along the arete.
But this is on sand stone so its not like all traverses :) |
| Feelin good here at the top haha |
| Haha. This picture is funny, look at my pad. Right when I toped out of the climb, the wind came and blew my pad like ten feet it was pretty intense. At least it dint blow away while I was climbing. |
| Trying to hold on. |
| Last few moves are like the hardest I think, because there is one big move to a poor hold then you have to bump like another foot to a better crimp. |
Here is the curx on the Sloppy traverse, its really cool. You get your feet right, do a big move to a three finger gastone pinch thing, move your feet up then bump to a better pinch, then match. It all revolves around getting your feet just right. But thats with most climbs im starting to learn. All in the feet!
Well thats it for today, Im going climbing in like 2 hours, goin to try to finish Bubble Butt! Wish me luck.
And after climbing Im headin back to Bishop! |
Great pictures again, Dyl. Congrats on the Sloppy Traverse and good luck on the Bubble Butt :)
